Most houseplants prefer moist soil in spring and summer. Take care not to water too much; soggy, waterlogged potting soil can cause disease and can be fatal. Keep your pots with drainage holes at the bottom so that excess water can drain out. Tip away any surplus that is sitting in the plant's cachepot or tray an hour after watering.
